Rohini has been learning Classical Carnatic music since the age of 6, and has trained with Palghat Sri T.S. Anantharama Bhagavathar, Principal of Sri Naada Brahmam Music School, Chembur and Asthana Vidwan Sringeri Mutt, Chembur, for span of 20 years.
Shri T.S.Anantharama Bhagavathar is the grandson of one of the doyen's of Carnatic music, late Palakkad Antharama Bhagavathar, who put the district Palakkad on the musical map of India. He is also the founder and Principal of Sri Naada Brahmam Music school, Mumbai.
She has completed a formal degree in Indian Music (Bachelors in Music - B.Music) from the University of Madras, having successfully completed practical exams in both Veena and Vocal medium of expression of Indian Classical Carnatic music.
She has also passed the Karnataka State Board Music Exam - Junior level in Honors.
She is now pursuing the Masters in Music (M.Music) degree in Indian Music from the University of Madras, Chennai, India.
All of this without comprising on her academic engagements.
Academically, she holds an MBA in Human Resources from the Welingkar Institute of Management, Mumbai, Masters in Commerce from the University of Mumbai and a Software Programming & Systems Management Diploma from NIIT.
She is learning Veena from Smt. Radha Ramchandran, following the 'Gayaki' style of playing the Veena of the Swati Thirunal Veena baani / school.
Rohini has also been training recently, in Hindustani Classical Music with Smt. Chaitra Sontakke, from the Gwalior Gharana, to gain an understanding of the Hindustani Classical Musical concepts and nuances.
